Simply stated, some umpires are really good, and some are really bad.  For example, one day an umpire could have a Strikezone Score of .948, like Chad Fairchild did on 5/8.  John Hirschbeck on the other hand, was really bad on 5/3, posting a Strikezone Score of just .797. Is Justin Verlander the 2011 AL MVP?
